Di Acetonealcohol is widely utilized as solvent for cellulose ester lacquers, wood stains, lacquer thinners, and printing pastes. It has chemical formula C6H12O2 with molar mass of 116.160 g/mol and density of 0.938 g/cm3. This chemical compound appears as colorless liquid with no odor and shows solubility in most organic solvents. It also serves as solvent for water-based coatings, degreasing agents, and metal cleaning compounds. Di Acetonealcohol is highly pure in nature and shows moderate water solubility. It has melting & boiling points of -47 & 166 degrees Celsius respectively. It is also soluble in oils hence is added to hydraulic brake fluids for improving their performance.
